Don’t Let Depression Get You Down
Depression creeps into some of our lives at one point or another and it is not always recognized at first. Some people don’t realize they have it, or they just feel like they are worn out from working so hard or haven’t gotten enough sleep. It is a very common emotional problem and varies in degree. Some people may experience feelings of slight sadness, while others may be miserable.
Depression is very unpleasant and is far more difficult to cope with than some physical illnesses.
The most prominent symptoms of depression are a feeling of loss, unexplained sadness, loss of energy, lack of interest in the world around and fatigue. Sometimes a depressed person cannot sleep. Other symptoms include loss of appetite, nausea, agitation and irritability. In cases of severe depression there may be a drop in body temperature, low blood pressure, hot flashes and shivering.

Some home remedies can help with depression. The following remedies can alleviate physical feelings associated with depression and also help with relieving the stress involved.
• An infusion of rose petals should be prepared by mixing 15 gm of rose petals in 250 ml of boiling water. If you drink this it is beneficial for treating this condition.
• The use of cardamom has proved valuable in depression. Powdered seeds should be boiled in water and tea prepared in the usual way. A very pleasing aroma is added to the tea, which can be used as a medicine in the treatment of this condition.
• Apple is one of the most valuable remedies for mental depression. The fruit should be taken with milk and honey. This remedy will act as a very effective nerve tonic and recharge the nerves with new energy and life.
