People spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on beauty treatments.  You have facials, scrubs, botox and many more things that you might pay top dollar for to help your skin look its best.  There are several different things that you probably have in your kitchen cabinet that can make your skin look terrific and they aren’t nearly as hard on your wallet as the treatments you may be paying someone else to do.

No matter what your age, acne can be a problem.  Some of us only get acne in our teenage years, while others carry it into adulthood.   We try just about anything to get rid of it too.  There are acne medications filling the shelves at the local drug store and infomercials flooding out televisions offering cures that can cost a lot of money.

Sometimes our kids get into brawls and end up with scraped knees, knuckles or even a black eye.  If it’s not your child, it may be a neighbor or someone else that you know.  If this happens, don’t worry.  Although black eyes tend to linger for a few weeks, we have some great home remedies to help get rid of that black eye as quickly as possible. 

It never fails.  You get your son a new pair of shoes every Christmas and a few days later he has a new blister on his foot.  The shoes fit perfectly and they are very comfortable, so why the blister?  Relax.  It’s the fact that the shoes are new and his feet are simply not used to them. 

Cold sores can be very painful and embarrassing.  Imagine getting a big cold sore on your lip right before a family event like a wedding or reunion.  The pictures would be cherished for years with your big cold sore front and center.

Acne is not just a teenage problem.  Many adults in their thirties and forties experience this problem too.  It’s probably more embarrassing for them being way past the teenage years,

All of a sudden you find that you are itchy.  You can’t figure out why, so you start to back track your steps.  Did you come in contact with poison ivy or something that you are allergic to?  Did you get bit by a bug of some sort?  These are the typical causes of an itch. 

Stretch marks can be very embarrassing.  No one wants them, but let’s face it…..if you have had children you more than likely have a few stretch marks that you wish would go away.  There are, of course, other causes of stretch marks like fluctuation in weight (gaining and losing weigh causes stretch marks too).  

Chapped or cracked lips can get out of control if not taken care of right away.  Sometimes the lips crack and bleed, which can be very painful.  Causes can include over exposure to the cold or windy conditions, over exposure to the sun, allergies, dehydration and frequent use of soaps and other chemicals. 

Herpes is sometimes referred to as the “hippy” disease.  It widely spread during the 1970’s when everyone was preaching, “Love, not war.”  It’s more common than people want to believe and is not the end of the world.  Herpes is a common viral infection and it is contagious.  It’s caused by the herpes simplex virus.
